Many loan recipients sign personal guarantees for small business loans without a thorough understanding of what they truly mean – to their business, their personal assets, or their family. Some sign a personal guarantee because they feel they have no choice. A select few know that there are measures they can take to protect themselves.  In this panel discussion, business, legal and lending experts will share insight into what loan products do and do not need a personal guarantee, the secrets to negotiating your personal guarantee and other ways of protecting your personal assets against personal guarantees.

Jon Cosentino, General Manager, Commercial Capital Training Group

Cosentino brings over 20 years of professional experience in finance and banking, including commercial banking, equipment finance, investment real estate, Multi Family and Mixed Use Properties, ABL lending and A/R Finance, and SBA Lending.   Prior to joining us here at the Commercial Capital Training Group, he served as the Senior Vice President at Meridian Capital Corporation where he specialized in equipment leasing and commercial real estate brokerage. He has worked at regional, national and worldwide institutions, including M&T Bank and Citibank. He has also worked as a commercial lender.Jon graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Finance and was raised in New York State.  He and his wife Kelly have three children.


Randy Evans, Attorney, Monroe Moxness Berg PA

A lawyer and shareholder at Monroe Moxness Berg PA, Randy Evans is a leader in the firm’s Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions groups with a focus on franchise companies, restaurants, retail, automotive aftermarket, banks, finance companies, private equity groups and small business clients.   Radny has extensive knowledge of commercial and corporate finance, representing buyers, sellers, equity investors, mezzanine funds and commercial lenders.  His specialties include Mergers and Acquisitions, Senior Debt, Subordinated Debt, Private Equity, Restructures, Divestitures, Valuations, and Joint Ventures.  Randy is a frequent speaker at franchise and finance-related conferences and has been honored by Franchise Times as one of franchising’s top 100 “Legal Eagles.”


James Coughlin, Chief Underwriting Officer, Asterisk Financial Group

James is a senior risk management professional with experience in credit risk assessment and management, enterprise risk management, and regulatory compliance.  He has a strong credit background developed through more than fifteen years of asset quality evaluation across various lines of business and industries.  He has had proven success in problem identification and solution implementation demonstrated as an operator of a regional business consulting firm and further developed in the large corporate environment.   He has been able to establish rapport and credibility with diverse groups ranging from technology professionals and regulatory agents to executive management and board members.


Casper Zublin, President and COO, IRP

International Rubber Products, Inc. manufactures custom-molded rubber components. It offers medical grade elastomers and tight-tolerance silicone components for medical device needs; tight-tolerance aerospace rubber products; precision-engineered components, Viking tooling and molding solutions, and sub-assemblies; rubber seals and diaphragms for medical, hydraulic, and fluid power applications; rubber and plastic molding solutions; and commercial and industrial rubber products.


David Nayor,  Co-President and Chief Operating Officer,

David Nayor manages all production of BoeFly’s marketplace, tools, and network from conception to implementation. In addition, David oversees the company operations including personnel and accounting.  Prior to joining BoeFly, David opened a New York production office for the Denver based United Western Bank (UWB) where he originated and closed commercial loan transactions. Before joining UWB, David was Vice President and National Accounts Manager for Business Loan Express, LLC in New York, a non-bank small business and real estate lender. He joined BLX in 2001 as a credit analyst and also served as Franchise Finance Manager. During his tenure at BLX he funded over $100 million in small business and commercial real estate loans.  David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Lehigh University.
